It connects to a laptop with the included 0.8m Thunderbolt 3 cable and expands one port into a full workstation layout: five USB-A ports, one USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port, Gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort, a downstream Thunderbolt 3 port, UHS-II SD, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Belkin's support documentation lists 40 Gbps host bandwidth, 85W laptop charging, dual 4K@60Hz display support, and single 5K@60Hz output. The dock uses Intel Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3, which means it can adapt to some USB-C hosts with DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery, but it is still best treated as a Thunderbolt dock. Display setups use the DisplayPort output plus the downstream Thunderbolt 3 port, so HDMI monitors need adapters. The Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro is still a practical desk dock if you find it at the right price and your laptop has Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4. Its strongest points are simple: 85W host charging, native driverless operation, dual 4K@60Hz support, a useful UHS-II SD reader, and enough USB-A ports for older peripherals. The aluminum chassis and included 170W power adapter also feel more like a proper workstation dock than a travel hub. The problem is age and competition. It has only one dedicated DisplayPort, no HDMI, no 2.5GbE, no microSD slot, and no Thunderbolt 4 guarantees. Mac users should also be careful: base Apple Silicon MacBooks are limited to one native external display, and user feedback around Thunderbolt docks from this era includes sleep/wake monitor detection complaints. If you already use Intel Mac, Windows, or a higher-end Apple Silicon laptop and can buy the F4U097 well below current Thunderbolt 4 dock pricing, it is a solid pick. If the price is close to a CalDigit TS4, OWC Thunderbolt 4 Dock, or Belkin's own newer Thunderbolt 4 models, buy the newer dock instead.
