Our review

Product main image

When we talk about Kensington, the first thing that comes into mind is that it is more than 35 years old and knows how to deal with desktops. Kensington SD4700P USB-C or USB-A- 60W PD - Dual Display Docking Station works with devices that support USB-A 3.0 or USB-C port. It can be a laptop, 2-in-1's, tablets, etc. Moreover, if you have a computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port, you need not worry as it also supports it, and you can easily connect it. If your device does not have a DisplayPort Alt mode; instead, it has a USB-C port, this docking station will provide video support. Kensington SD4700P USB-C or USB-A- 60W PD - Dual Display Docking Station also supports Single Monitor: 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz and Dual Monitors: 2048 x 1152 @ 60Hz. You can get a maximum speed of 5Gbps on the USB ports.

Does this have a Kensington Security Slot?

Our Verdict

Kensington SD4700P was introduced in February 2018, and so far, people have loved it. After reading this review, you can easily see why it is one of best rated docking stations on our page.

If you are OK with only 1x DisplayPort + 1x HDMI inputs for your displays, this one will be a good choice. It has many similarities to the Dell D6000 - it offers 60W power pass-through to charge your laptop, ships with tethered USB-C (F) to USB 3.0 (M) adapter, but Dell's dock has 2x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI ports that support not 2K but 4K displays. We believe that Dell D6000 is the better choice in this price range.
